Sustainability

A growing medium the earth gives back.

Coir is one of the most renewable materials in horticulture. We want every bag we ship to leave the land a little better than it found it.

01

Renewable by nature

Coconut palms fruit year-round for decades. Coir comes from the husk — a by-product of food production — so nothing is grown or felled to make it.

02

The peat-free answer

Peat bogs store vast amounts of carbon and take thousands of years to form. Coir gives growers the water-holding and structure they relied on peat for, without the harm.

03

Reusable and compostable

Spent coir can be steamed and reused, worked into soil as a conditioner, or composted. At the end of its life it simply returns to the earth.

04

Cleaner water, better fibre

Washing and buffering are managed to use water responsibly, and the fibre we screen out goes on to become mats, rope and erosion control.

Our commitment

“Natural products, a sustainable future — and growers who never have to choose between the two.”
